How do I access PractiEHR?
After purchasing a subscription, PractiEHR will be available from your Codingforhealth account according to the access instructions provided.
How long do I have access?
It depends on the subscription you selected: 3 months, 6 months or 12 months.
Can I extend my access?
Yes. When your access period ends you can purchase a new subscription period if you want to keep practicing.
Do I need to have studied medical coding before?
It is highly recommended. PractiEHR is designed mainly to apply and reinforce knowledge, not to replace a foundational medical coding course.
What kinds of activities can I practice?
The platform includes or is developing paths related to Charge Capture, Risk Adjustment, Denials Management, Medical Billing and other areas of medical coding and revenue cycle.
Are the cases organized by level?
Yes. Certain paths may include levels such as Basic, Intermediate and Advanced to allow a gradual progression.
Can I see my performance?
Yes. Depending on the activity, PractiEHR may show metrics related to accuracy, productivity, encounters completed, progress by level and other performance measures.
Do I get feedback after completing a case?
Activities may include feedback, rationales or information that lets you review your reasoning and identify the areas you need to reinforce.
What do I do if I have a question about a case?
You can send a message to your instructor directly from PractiEHR.
What do I do if I disagree with an answer or a rationale?
You can report the case or send a question from the platform so that it is reviewed.
Do I need code books?
Depending on the activity, you may need to consult CPT®, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS Level II or other applicable references.
Can I use PractiEHR from my phone?
Although some pages can open on mobile devices, we recommend using a computer or laptop for the full experience of the work queues and the EHR environment.
Is PractiEHR a real clinical EHR?
No. PractiEHR is an educational simulation platform designed for practice.
Does PractiEHR contain real patient information?
No. The patients, data and scenarios used for training are simulated and contain no real PHI.
Does PractiEHR provide a professional certification?
PractiEHR is an educational practice and simulation tool. Professional certifications are awarded by the corresponding certifying organizations.
