CPC — professional medical coding
Reading the clinical documentation and assigning the CPT®, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes that describe what happened in the office or in the operating room.
CPB — medical billing
What that code does once it leaves the office: insurance, claims, reimbursement, denials, and the rest of the revenue cycle, and why a claim gets paid, denied, or sits in A/R.
Both, in the same study plan
They are studied inside the same program and with the same instructor, in the live Tuesday classes. You finish prepared to sit for both AAPC exams.

Can I study the whole program in Spanish, at my own pace?
Yes, with the Self-paced option. You study the CPC and the CPB online and in Spanish: you move through the platform with lessons, readings, and exercises, and practice in EHRCode™ whenever your time allows.
What is the total price of the Self-paced option?
$3,995 for the complete program for both credentials. That price includes the official code books, Medical Fundamentals, EHRCode™, Practicode, one year of AAPC membership, and the CPC and CPB exams.
Are there payment plans? How much is the down payment?
You can pay for the program in a single payment or in installments. When you apply, we send you the plan with the down payment and the amount of each installment, so you can review it before you enroll.
Does it include the code books, anatomy, medical terminology, and both exams?
Yes, in both options. Enrollment includes the official CPT®, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II code books; Medical Fundamentals, with medical terminology and anatomy; one year of AAPC membership; and the CPC and CPB certification exams with two attempts each.
Can I take both exams from home?
Yes. AAPC lets you take the CPC and the CPB online from home, with a live remote proctor, or at a testing center. To test at home, AAPC asks for a private room, an external webcam, and a stable connection; confirm the current requirements when you schedule each exam.
How long do I have to complete both courses?
With the Self-paced option you have 1 year of access to the content, with the option to extend it. With the instructor-led option, the program runs 16 weeks, with live classes on Tuesdays at 7:30 PM ET starting November 24, 2026.
Does the program prepare me to take the exams in English?
Yes. AAPC gives the CPC and the CPB in English, and the program prepares you for that: the explanations are in Spanish, and from the start you work with the English terminology, code sets, and code books you will use on exam day.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the CPC and the CPB?

The CPC concentrates mainly on professional medical coding. The CPB concentrates on medical billing, claims, insurance, and reimbursement. This program studies both areas within a single plan.

What language is it taught in?

The live classes and the support are in Spanish. The industry terminology and the exam materials are worked in English, because both AAPC exams are given in that language.

When do classes start?

Live classes begin on November 24, 2026 and run on Tuesdays at 7:30 PM ET.

Are the certification exams included?
