Who it makes sense for
A credential opens the door; the craft is what gets paid for. This program teaches medical coding from the base up to exam level, and it pays off most for someone already inside the field:
- You work in billing
- You see the codes every day from the other side of the claim. Learning to assign them gives you the missing half: why that code and not another, and what supports it in the documentation.
- You come from the payer side
- You know the adjudication rules better than anyone. Coding on the provider side completes the picture: you see how the code you later evaluate gets built.
- You run a physician practice
- You sign off on what your team codes. Understanding from the inside how each code is built changes the conversations about clinical documentation and about denials.
- You got credentialed and never practiced
- The credential is still live but the practice goes cold. Coming back with live classes, new code books, and real cases is a different thing from reviewing notes from three years ago.
And your renewal is covered along the way
AAPC reviewed this program and approved it for 40 Core A CEUs. A cycle is 36 every two years, and of those, at most 12 can be Core B — the rest has to be Core A, which is exactly the kind that is hard to find.
With this program you deliver the full cycle. You are not paying for hours: you are paying to learn the craft, and the hours come with it.
How the CEUs are awarded
- They are awarded to those who already hold an AAPC certification before enrolling.
- Valid for COC, CPC, CPC-P, CPB, and CPPM.
- Single use: the program is credited only once.
- They do not apply to CPCO, CIRCC, CPMA, or specialty credentials.
- The approval covers education obtained before July 30, 2027.
On completing the program you receive the certificate issued by AAPC, with which you record your CEUs in your account. Prior approval attests that the program meets its continuing education requirements; it does not constitute an endorsement of its content or of Codingforhealth LLC.
